More parents choose online parent-school contractsNovember 8, 2017, 5:05 am GMT
More parents are using online parent-school contracts as part of mandatory enrolment requirements for private schools in Dubai. One in every four parents now sign the contract online - up 20% from last year.
The contracts can be signed online through the KHDA app or the "Happy Home" portal, which means do not have to visit the school for signatures unless a student is being registered for the first time at a private school in Dubai.
KHDA CEO of knowledge and human development policies Amal Belhasa said: "Schools play a very important role in informing parents about the importance of the contract. By encouraging parents to read and sign the contract online, we are saving time, effort and resources and making it convenient for everyone.
"This year, most schools have encouraged parents to sign the parent-school contract online and we've seen a big jump in the popularity of online contracts. Going forward, we hope more schools will work with their parent community to promote the smart service."
Signing the parent-school contract is mandatory to register any student at a private school in Dubai. The contract ensures both parents and schools are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
Belhasa noted: By implementing the contracts we have seen a significant decrease in disputes. Parents and schools are more aware of their rights and responsibilities and this has led to a positive mutual cooperation by allowing disputes to get resolved amicably."
