Kings' School Al Barsha will open its sixth form from September 2017, offering A Levels and a Kings' Diploma.
A Levels qualifications will include subjects such as product design, music technology, physical education, and theatre studies, which will be complemented by more traditional study areas such as business and economics.
Kings' Al Barsha will also introduce the Kings' Diploma, which will involve several wider academic awards, including the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification), Duke of Edinburgh Award (to Gold Level), work experience via Dubai-based business placements, charity work, community support and leadership challenges and qualifications.
Commenting on the introduction of the school's sixth form, Kings' Al Barsha principal Alan Williamson said: "Kings' is one of Dubai's foremost centres of academic excellence. Our new and dynamic Sixth Form offers an exciting, stimulating and challenging environment for learning, which will ensure our students excel in intellectual enquiry, debate and search for explanation well beyond their A Level curriculum."
Head of Kings' sixth form Rebecca Coulter added: "We are immensely proud to extend our learning programmes beyond GCSE. Our students will enhance their intellectual, personal and social development by taking full advantage of the fantastic opportunities provided at Kings'. We are confident that our students will go on to win places at top universities worldwide. We are privileged to be preparing tomorrow's adults, today."
