Abu Dhabi to get six new public schools in SeptemberJuly 12, 2017, 7:35 am GMT
The Abu Dhabi Education Council will open six new schools in the emirate in September 2017 - these include three schools in Al Ain, two in Abu Dhabi, and one in Al Qou'.
The new schools in Abu Dhabi include one KG & Cycle 1 school in Mohammed bin Zayed city, with a capacity of 60 classes in C1 to accommodate 1500 students, and 12 classrooms in KG for 240 children. The building also contains administration areas, dining halls, multi-purpose rooms, a library, laboratories, music rooms, and a clinic.
Similarly, the second new school in the capital, located in Shakhbut, will cater to 1250 C1 students in 50 classrooms, and 240 kindergarten children in 12 classrooms. All the new school buildings are equipped advanced educational resources that suit the different age levels and abilities of students.In Al Ain, the schools of Al Yahar, Al Shuaiba and Ain Al Faydah will accommodate KG and C1 students, with a capacity of 1250 students for C1 within 50 classrooms, and 240 kindergarten children within 12 classrooms in each school.
In Al Qou', the new school will cater for 1000 students in C1 with 40 classrooms, and 240 kindergarten children with 12 classrooms
The new schools are part of the ADEC Future Schools Program to meet the needs of future generations through
educational facilities designed to cater for different categories of students, particularly those with special needs.ADEC director general Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi commented: "Future Schools are the first schools in the Emirate to comply with the UPC's Estidama sustainability standards, achieving two-pearl rating certification from Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, which improves local material use and encourages resources and waste minimisation."
The new schools are located within residential communities to help reduce student travel time. The new buildings are eco-friendly and reduce water and electricity consumption through special environmentally optimal solutions, using high quality insulating materials, daytime lighting system and A/C eco-friendly system.
